Cheung Leung had to come up with a quick fix for the economic disaster and to produce income for his military. He, as it follows invented the game we know today as keno and it was a great success.

Keno used to be known as the White Pigeon Game, seeing as the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from bigger municipalities to the smaller villages. The lottery ‘Keno’ was brought to the USA in the 1800s by Chinese newcomers who came to the US for jobs. In those times, Keno was played with one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is generally enjoyed with 80 numbers in just about all of American based casinos along with net casinos. Keno is mainly played today as a consequence of the laid back nature of betting the game and the basic reality that there are little skills required to enjoy Keno. Regardless of the fact that the odds of getting a win are appalling, there is always the possibility that you will hit quite large with very little gaming investment.

Keno is played with eighty numbers with twenty numbers selected each round. Players of Keno can select from two to 10 numbers and wager on them, as much or as little as they want to. The payout of Keno is according to the wagers made and the roll out of matching numbers.

Keno has grown in acceptance in the US since the close of the 1800’s when the Chinese letters were changed with , American numbers. Lottos were not covered under the laws of wagering in the state of Nevada in 1931. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the notion that the numbers are horses and you are wanting your horses to place. When the Nevada government passed a law that taxed off track gambling, casinos quickly changed the name to ‘Keno’.
