Keno was created in two hundred before Christ by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a financial resource for his failing army. The city of Cheung was waging a battle, and after some time appeared to be facing national famine with the drastic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to develop a rapid fix for the financial calamity and to create money for his army. He, as it follows created the game we know today as keno and it was a wonderful success.
Keno once was well-known as the White Pigeon Game, due to the fact that the winning numbers were delivered by pigeons from larger municipalities to the tinier villages. The lottery ‘Keno’ was imported to the US in the 19th century by Chinese migrants who came to the United States to jobs. In those times, Keno used one hundred and twenty numbers.
Today, Keno is regularly enjoyed with eighty numbers in almost all of the US based casinos as well as internet casinos. Keno is mainly liked today as a result of the laid back nature of gambling the game and the basic reality that there are no skills required to enjoy Keno. Despite the reality that the odds of coming away with a win are horrible, there is always the hope that you will hit quite big with little gaming investment.
Keno is played with 80 numbers with twenty numbers selected each game. Players of Keno can choose from two to 10 numbers and gamble on them, as much or as little as they want to. The pay out of Keno is according to the wagers made and the matching of numbers.
Keno grew in universal appeal in the US near the close of the 19th century when the Chinese characters were changed with more familiar, US numbers. Lotteries were not covered under the laws of gaming in the state of Nevada in 1931. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the notion that the numbers are horses and you are wanting your horses to place. When the Nevada government passed a law that levied a tax on off track wagering, the casinos swiftly changed the name to ‘Keno’.
