It may not usually be deemed the sexiest game in the world of betting, but keno has millions and millions of devoted fans. Why wouldn’t it? It’s a consistently thrilling lottery-ish game that’s a snap to pickup, abundantly available in tons of assorted styles, and one that can return mega-dollars for players who master its heaps of subtle intricacies. But let’s start with the beginner’s rules for now.

When explaining keno to novices, some gambling experts compare it to the lottery. This is at least partly correct, in that both games are fundamentally numerical. But to take that comparison too far would be to belittle the innumerable unique aspect that make keno so exciting. Not like bingo, keno enthusiasts have the ability to select the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the user is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to pick as many (or as few) numbers as he or she thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your selected numbers with a every day oldmarker like you used back in school.

Now that you’ve marked your numbers, carry the card back to the nice person at the keno booth. The clerk will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your face and wants help out, without a winning slip in hand, you will get exactly $.00 for your time spent.

And there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno ticket. Let us move to something a little more advanced, shall we?

If you selected winners, mark your card accordingly. Sake care not to take your time, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You want to get back to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, as a new keno game will probably start up within not too many minutes.

Assuming you don’t trust yourself to make that five-minute deadline every time, you always retain the option of purchasing a "multi-race" ticket. These include the very same set of your desired numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 slips. When the max amount of keno games (matching the number of tickets) is played, you can then get off your lazy back side and go retrieve your winnings.

Yet another choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which normally allows you make number choices for thirty games or more. Golly, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to worry about getting back in time to retrieve your winnings. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after you by it!

So now you know a few needed techniques for winning keno. If you are an experienced player, they may seem stupidly obvious. Still, it won’t hurt to brush up on the basics, and if you are a new gambler, every bit of advice will help make your keno betting more fun.
