Keno Strategies That Work

It might not often be considered the most lucrative game in the field of wagering, but keno has loads of zealous fans. And so it should! It’s a regularly thrilling lottery-esque game that’s a breeze to pickup, abundantly available in a number of assorted styles, and one that may yield millions for those who master its countless subtle rules. But let’s start with the basic rules here.

When explaining keno to newcomers, some gambling experts compare it to lotto. This is at least partially correct, in that both games are generally numerical. Not like bingo, keno gamblers have the power to choose the numbers for each card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is accord an increased degree of personal responsibility by being able to pick as many (or as few) numbers as she thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a doctor of keno to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your desired numbers with a good oldmarker like you used when you were in school.

Now that you’ve checked your numbers, take the card back to the girl at the keno stand. The girl will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Don’t lose this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers you and wants help out, without a winning receipt in hand, you will be given exactly $.00 for your time spent.

Ok, there you have strategy #1: always take care to keep your keno receipt. Let us move to something a little bit more advanced, yes?

After you’ve marked your numbers, get into a comfy keno booth and watch the action take place on a video monitor. That’s where the winning numbers are displayed for all to see. If you selected winners, mark your card appropriately. Be sure not to drag your feet, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You are required to get back to the keno booth to get your winnings, since a new round of keno will most likely start within a few minutes.

Strategy number 2: always make sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you can’t trust yourself to make that 5 minute deadline every time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your desired numbers on anywhere from two to 20 cards. When the maximum amount of games (fitting the amount of tickets) is played, you are then able to get off your numb butt and go get your winnings.

Yet another opportunity is recognized as a "stray and play" keno card, which usually lets you make number picks for thirty keno rounds or more. Hell, you can take vacation to Italy and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to collect your numbers. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after you by it!
