Keno Tactics That Work

by Harper on Jun.06, 2018, under Keno

It might not ordinarily be seen as the most lucrative game in the universe of gambling, but keno has tons of devout admirers. And so it should! It’s a consistently entertaining lottery-esque game that’s simple to learn, readily available in a number of different variations, and one that may return mega-dollars for gamblers who master its heaps of subtle nuances. But let’s begin with the basic rules here.

When describing keno to newbies, some wagering connoisseurs compare it to the lottery. This is at least to a certain extent correct, in that each game is essentially numerical. However, to take that comparison too far might be to think too little of the many unique characteristics that make keno so compelling. Unlike bingo, keno enthusiasts have the ability to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of 80 numbers, but the user is given an additional degree of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as many (or as few) numbers as he thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your picked numbers with a normal#2 pencil like you had when you were in school.

After you’ve checked your numbers, carry the card back to the person at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your loud shirt and would like to help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will get precisely $.00 for your actions.

So, there you have strategy numero uno: always make sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s move to something a tiny bit more useful, shall we?

Now that you’ve marked your numbers, get into a comfy keno booth and observe the action happen on the screen. This is where the winning numbers show up for us. If you checked winners, mark your card aptly. Make sure not to move to slowly, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You need to get up to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, since a new drawing will certainly start within 5 minutes.

Strategy #2: always make sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Since you don’t trust yourself to meet that 5 minute margin each time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 slips. When the max amount of rounds (matching the amount of tickets) is finished, you can then get off your lazy rump and go collect your winnings.

Another option is referred to as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which generally lets you make number selection for 30 keno games or more. Golly, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to redeem your winnings. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

So now you know a couple of necessary schemes for winning keno. If you are an adept user, they may seem to be quite obvious. But it doesn’t hurt to brush up on the basic techniques, and if you are a newbie user, every tiny bit of information will help make your keno wagering more agreeable.
