It will not often be deemed the most fun game in the arena of betting, but keno has tons of zealous admirers. And so it should! It’s a routinely thrilling lottery-esque game that’s uncomplicated to pickup, readily available in tons of assorted variations, and one that might return millions of dollars for those who learn its many subtle intricacies. But let’s start with the basic rules here.

When defining keno to amateurs, some gaming connoisseurs compare it to lotto. This is at least tolerably apt, in that both games are basically numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far would be to discount the innumerable unique traits that make keno so interesting. Unlike bingo, keno players have the ability to choose the numbers for each card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is granted an additional level of personal responsibility by being able to choose as numerous (or as few) numbers as she wants. And it doesn’t take a genius to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your picked numbers with a good oldmarker like you used when you were in third grade.

Now that you’ve marked your numbers, carry your keno card back to the nice person at the keno booth. The keno pit manager will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not lose this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your face and would like to help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will get precisely $.00 for your time spent.

And there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno slip. Let’s get on to something a bit more useful, shall we?

Once you’ve picked out your numbers, get yourself into a comfortable keno booth and see the action take place on the keno monitor. That’s where the winning numbers are displayed for all to see. If you have winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to move to slowly, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You are required to get up to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, and a new keno game will probably begin within 5 minutes.

Strategy #2: always get back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you can not trust yourself to meet that five-minute margin every time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the very same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 tickets. When the max amount of rounds (matching the amount of tickets) is completed, you will then be able to get off your lazy bum and go collect your winnings.

Still another opportunity is recognized as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which usually lets you make number choices for 30 keno games or more. Gosh, you can take vacation to France and not have to fret about getting back in time to retrieve your numbers. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

And now you know a couple indispensable schemes for winning keno. If you are an adept keno player, they might seem incredibly obvious. However, it will never hurt to study up on the fundamentals, and if you are a novice gambler, every little bit of advice will help make your keno wagering more enjoyable.
