Keno was created in two hundred BC by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a financial resource for his declining forces. The metropolis of Cheung was at war, and after some time seemed to be looking at a country wide famine with the dramatic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to create a quick response for the financial adversity and to produce revenue for his forces. He thusly created the game we now know as keno and it was a great success.

Keno used to be known as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were delivered by pigeons from larger cities to the tinier towns. The lottery ‘Keno’ was brought to the US in the 19th century by Chinese migrants who came to the States for jobs. In those times, Keno used 120 numbers.

Today, Keno is most often gambled on with 80 numbers in most of the US brick and mortar casinos as well as web casinos. Keno is mainly played today as a result of the relaxed nature of betting the game and the simple reality that there are no skills required to play Keno. Regardless of the reality that the odds of succeeding are appalling, there is constantly the chance that you could win quite large with a tiny gaming investment.

Keno is played with 80 numbers with twenty numbers picked each game. Enthusiasts of Keno can select from two to ten numbers and wager on them, as much or as little as they are able to. The payout of Keno is dependent on the wagers made and the roll out of matching numbers.

Keno has grown in popularity in the US since the close of the 1800’s when the Chinese characters were replaced with , American numbers. Lottos were not covered under the laws of gaming in Nevada State in 1931. The casinos altered the name of the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the notion that the numbers are horses and you are looking for your horses to come in. When a law passed that taxed off track betting, Nevada casinos quickly altered the name to ‘Keno’.
