Keno was introduced in 200 before Christ by the Chinese army leader, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a way to finance his declining army. The city of Cheung was at war, and after a bit of time seemed to be facing national famine with the excessive drop in supplies. Cheung Leung had to create a rapid fix for the financial calamity and to create money for his military. He therefore invented the game we know today as keno and it was a wonderful success.

The lottery ‘Keno’ was imported to the United States in the 1800s by Chinese newcomers who migrated to the US for work. In those times, Keno was played with 120 numbers.
