It will not often be considered the sexiest game in the arena of betting, but keno has loads of devout admirers. Why wouldn’t it? It’s a routinely exciting lotto-ish game that’s a snap to learn, readily available in a number of alternate formats, and one that will return millions of dollars for gamblers who learn its uncounted subtle rules. But let’s start with the basics for now.

When describing keno to beginners, some gaming experts compare it to bingo. This is at least in some ways correct, in that both games are essentially numerical. However, to take that comparison too far would be to underestimate the great many unique aspect that make keno so fun. Unlike bingo, keno players have the freedom to select the numbers for each and every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the gambler is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to choose as many (or as few) numbers as she needs. And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your picked numbers with a every day oldpen like you used when you were in grade 3.

Now that you have picked your numbers, carry the card back to the person at the keno booth. The nice person will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Make sure no to misplace this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your face and would like to help out, without a winning receipt on you, you will collect exactly $.00 for your actions.

OK, so there you have strategy number one: always take care to keep your keno slip. Let us get on to something a bit more useful, yes?

Now that you’ve marked your numbers, settle into a comfy keno booth and see the action unfold on the video monitor. This is where the winning numbers appear in lights. If you selected winners, mark your card appropriately. Be sure not to dally, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You really want to get up to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, and a new drawing will almost certainly begin within not too many minutes.

Strategy number 2: always go back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you can’t trust yourself to meet that 5 minute margin each time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the very same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 cards. When the maximum amount of rounds (matching the amount of tickets) is played out, you should then get off your numb butt and go collect your winnings.

Yet another opportunity is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which usually allows you make number choices for 30 keno games or more. Heck, you can take an ocean cruise and not have to fret about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" game tickets are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

And now you are aware of a few required strategies for winning keno. If you are an experienced keno player, they may appear to be quite obvious. Still, it won’t hurt to bone up on the basics, and if you are a new gambler, every tiny bit of information will help make your keno playing more captivating.
