It won’t often be deemed the sexiest game in the arena of gambling, but keno has massive amounts of fanatical followers. As well it should! It’s a always exciting lottery-like game that’s a snap to master, abundantly available in lots of assorted styles, and one that will return millions of dollars for those who learn its countless subtle intricacies. But let’s start with the basics here.

When explaining keno to newcomers, some betting masters compare it to bingo. This is at least in some measure correct, in that both games are fundamentally numerical. But to take that comparison too far is likely to be to underestimate the great many unique aspect that make keno so interesting. Unlike bingo, keno players have the freedom to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is granted an increased degree of personal responsibility by being able to select as many (or as few) numbers as she needs. And it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your desired numbers with a ordinaryball point pen like you used back in school.

After you have checked your numbers, take the keno card back to the person at the keno stand. The person will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your pretty face and wants help out, without a winning receipt with you, you will win exactly $.00 for your actions.

OK, so there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s move on to something a little more complex, yes?

After you’ve selected your numbers, get into a comfortable keno booth and observe the action happen on the screen. That’s where the winning numbers show up for us. If you have winners, mark your card aptly. Make sure not to dilly dally, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You want to get back to the keno stand to get your winnings, and a new drawing will likely begin within five minutes.

Strategy #2: always make it back to the keno stand on time!

Since you can not trust yourself to make that five-minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of purchasing a "multi-race" ticket. These include the very same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from two to 20 tickets. When the max amount of rounds (matching the number of tickets) is finished, you will then be able to get off your lazy rump and go collect your winnings.

Yet another option is referred to as a "stray and play" keno card, which usually allows you make number choices for 30 keno games or more. Gosh, you can take a world tour and not have to fret about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after it’s purchased!
