Keno’s History
by Harper on Mar.12, 2016, under Keno
Keno was first played in two hundred before Christ by the Chinese military leader, Cheung Leung who used this game as a way to finance his failing army. The metropolis of Cheung was waging a battle, and after awhile of war time appeared to be facing national famine with the dramatic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung had to develop a fast response for the economic adversity and to acquire money for his forces. He thusly designed the game we know today as keno and it was a fantastic success.
Keno once was known as the White Pigeon Game, because the winning numbers were delivered by pigeons from bigger cities to the tinier towns. The lotto ‘Keno’ was brought to the United States in the 19th century by Chinese migrants who came to the States for work. In those times, Keno used one hundred and twenty numbers.
Today, Keno is regularly gambled on with eighty numbers in most of the US based casinos along with net casinos. Keno is commonly played today as a consequence of the relaxed nature of wagering the game and the simple fact that there are little skills needed to play Keno. Regardless of the reality that the odds of succeeding are appalling, there is always the hope that you could win quite big with little gaming investment.
Keno is enjoyed with eighty numbers with 20 numbers picked each game. Gamblers of Keno can pick from two to 10 numbers and wager on them, as much or as little as they want to. The payout of Keno is according to the bets made and the roll out of matching numbers.
Keno grew in popularity in the US near the close of the 1800’s when the Chinese characters were changed with more familiar, US numbers. Lottos weren’t covered under the laws of gaming in the state of Nevada in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the idea that the numbers are horses and you are looking for your horses to place. When a law passed that levied a tax on off track betting, casinos quickly changed the name to ‘Keno’.
